Boundaries, Codependency & Relationships

You know you need boundaries. Saying no still feels like betrayal.

You're dependable. You read the room before you read yourself. And somewhere along the way, keeping other people comfortable became your job.

Boundaries aren't a script problem

Most people who struggle with boundaries already know the words. The difficulty isn't wording — it's what happens in your body during the three seconds after you say it, and whether you can stay standing in that discomfort without immediately taking it back.

So we practice. We look at what the guilt is protecting, where the habit was learned, and what it currently costs you and the people close to you.

What we work on

Noticing the difference between care and self-erasure. Tolerating someone else's disappointment without repairing it for them. Saying the direct thing earlier, before resentment does the talking. Knowing what you want clearly enough to name it.

This isn't about becoming colder. Done well, boundaries make honest closeness possible.

You don’t have to know exactly what kind of help you need.

Tell Bill what is happening and what you want to change. He will help you identify an appropriate first step.
